Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 June 2026
rayn. is a UK-based food brand preparing to launch premium Medjool dates. Right now, the only thing we ask for is your email address, so we can tell you when we go live. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
01Who we are
For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is rayn. ("we", "us", "our"), based in London, United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@rayndates.com.
02What we collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you enter — nothing else. We do not ask for your name, address, payment details, or any other personal information at this stage.
Our website is hosted on Netlify. Like most web hosts, Netlify automatically processes limited technical information (such as your IP address and basic request logs) to serve the site securely and protect against abuse. We do not use this information to identify you.
03Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your email address for one purpose only: to send you a single notification when rayn. launches, plus the occasional essential update if something material changes before then. We will not bombard you — one email, then silence until launch.
Our legal basis for this is your consent, which you give by submitting the waitlist form. You can withdraw it at any time (see section 06).
04Cookies & tracking
We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, or marketing cookies on this site. We are not tracking your behaviour across the web. Any cookies set are strictly those required by our host to keep the site running.
05Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address. The only third parties that process it are the service providers that run our waitlist and site on our behalf — currently Netlify, which stores form submissions and hosts the website. These providers may store data on servers outside the UK or EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place to protect it.
06Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it deleted ("right to erasure");
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time; and
- ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these — or simply to be removed from the waitlist — email hello@rayndates.com and we will action it promptly. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
07How long we keep it
We keep your email address until we launch and have sent your launch notification, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. After that, we remove it unless you have separately chosen to stay on our mailing list.
08Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Because we are pre-launch, this policy is deliberately simple and will be expanded when we begin selling.
